Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This cookie policy explains how 7EMPLE ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website at 7emple.nl. This policy is provided in accordance with Article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act (Telecommunicatiewet, "Tw"), which implements Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC), and the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") where the processing of personal data is involved.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used to make websites function correctly, to improve user experience, and to provide website owners with information about how their site is being used.
Similar technologies such as pixels, local storage, and fingerprinting techniques are covered by the same rules under Article 11.7a Tw. Where this policy refers to "cookies", it includes these similar technologies unless otherwise stated.
2. Legal Framework
Under Article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act, storing or reading information on a user's device is only permitted if:
1. The user has been clearly and completely informed about the purposes of the cookie; and
2. The user has given prior consent (as defined in Article 4(11) GDPR: freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous).
There are two statutory exceptions where consent is not required:
- Technical necessity (Article 11.7a(1)(a) Tw): The cookie is strictly necessary for the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network.
- User-requested service (Article 11.7a(1)(b) Tw): The cookie is strictly necessary for providing an information society service explicitly requested by the user.
Although the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) permits low-impact analytics cookies to be placed without consent under strict conditions, we nevertheless ask for your consent before placing any analytics cookies (see Section 3.2).
3. Categories of Cookies We Use
3.1 Strictly necessary storage
This data is needed to make the website and your choices work. It does not identify you and does not require consent (Article 11.7a(3) of the Dutch Telecommunications Act).

| Session state (7emple_introSeen, 7emple_txOrigin) | Session storage, 7emple.nl | Page transitions and showing the intro animation only once | Session |
| 7e_lead | Session storage, 7emple.nl | Makes sure a submitted enquiry is counted exactly once. Contains no name, email or message. | Deleted immediately on the thank-you page |
3.2 Statistics (only with consent)
If you choose “Analytics only” or “Accept all”, we use Google Analytics 4 and PostHog to understand how visitors use our website.

| 7e_attr | Session storage, 7emple.nl | The first page and campaign tags (utm) of your visit, so we can see which campaign led to an enquiry | Session |
3.3 Marketing (only with consent)
If you choose “Accept all”, we use Google Ads to measure which ads lead to an enquiry, and Google may tailor ads to visitors of our website.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| _gcl_au and other _gcl_* cookies | Google Ireland Ltd. (Google Ads, Conversion Linker), via Google Tag Manager | Measuring ad conversions and linking them to the ad click | Up to 90 days |
Legal basis and configuration: statistics and marketing are based on your consent (Article 11.7a Dutch Telecommunications Act and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). In addition:
- Google Tag Manager loads on every page, but the Google tags inside it wait for your consent (Google Consent Mode v2, basic implementation). Without consent we send nothing to Google Analytics or Google Ads and no Google cookies are set.
- Statistics and marketing are separate choices. “Analytics only” does not allow advertising cookies.
- PostHog processes data on servers in the European Union and does not create persistent profiles of anonymous visitors.
- If you withdraw consent, measurement stops immediately and we delete the Google Analytics, Google Ads and PostHog cookies that were already set.
- We never send names, email addresses, phone numbers or messages to Google Analytics, Google Ads or PostHog.
3.4 Embedded videos
YouTube videos (via the privacy-enhanced domain youtube-nocookie.com) only load when you click the video. After that, YouTube, a Google service, may store data on your device under its own policy.
3.5 What we do not use
We do not use social media tracking pixels (such as the Facebook Pixel or LinkedIn Insight Tag) or third-party cookies for behavioural advertising outside Google Ads.
